Warm summer weather is here, and you can’t hide behind those big sweaters anymore. Exposing more skin makes summer a good motivator shedding those extra pounds. Let outdoor activities and lighter summer meals lead the way. Then boost your summer weight loss plan with these six tips to get in shape well before summer’s end.

1. Use a 4X-Day Meal Plan
Don’t worry about counting calories. This 4x-day meal plan will help you get the right nutrients at the right time of the day. Focus more on protein and fiber and less on carbs to fuel your body and stave off hunger, which leads to overeating. Eat plenty of protein at breakfast. Have one of two carbs with protein either at lunch or dinner. Have one snack with fiber and protein such as an apple and a handful of nuts.

2. Eat Clean
Fresh foods spoil easily because they’re not loaded down with preservatives. That’s the kind of food your body’s DNA is looking for. This doesn’t mean broiling yourself, but before slathering on the sunscreen, bask in the sun for about 15 minutes. It’s the best source of vitamin D.
